Earth, sea and sky.

Earth, sea and sky.
From above St Agnes Head. I just felt the combination worked well. (...and works quite well too on large). Above all, I just liked the colour and slight choppiness of the sea here!

Erhard Bernstein, slgwv, Nouchetdu38, sea-herdorf and 31 other people have particularly liked this photo

You had better weather down there, than we had up here, Andy. I love looking at the sea when the sky is a mixture of colours.

Is that a rock slightly awash just right of center? Suggests navigation here would be tricky!

I wasn't joking, Steve. I've seen a few whales here (unfortunately more dead and washed up than alive) and schools of porposes and every June (at one time before I moved away) families of basking sharks working their way serenely up the coast . Didn't take photos then so no record; which I now regret!

I think something might have been lost in traslation mid Atlantic, Steve!. I recently learnt that 'your'e kidding me!' is much stronger in the US than here where it is a completely harmless phrase! Personally, I find these differences in language usage very interesting.

Maybe GBS, but it's been attributed to quite a few different bods over the decades, Steve.
100 years ago philologists were certain that English and the American version of it would split irrevocably by about 2050. But they couldn't predict popular culture; Hollywood and popular music and television. The opposite is happening.

Indeed! Recording technology and mass communication in particular. I've seen it suggested that the maximum divergence was on the eve of World War I. Then came the doughboys; then after the war radio and movies, which exposed different parts of the Anglophone world to each others' accents and usages.

We obviously find such things to be of interest, I find it amazing that so many people aren't!
