A summer walk.
A summers day near Greenfield brings us some murky weather overlooking Yeoman Hey Reservoir. This part of a wall is very typical of the walls around here, probably built by the makers of the reservoirs (ASD Waterworks) as farmers rarely finished the tops of with rounded shaped stone. Of course this would be grit-stone which is plentiful around these parts with many small quarries dug into the sides of the valleys.
Enjoy the day in better weather.

A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Very interesting point about the top of the wall. Why on earth would any farmer waste time and effort shaping stones like that? I suspect you are right!
Best Wishes, HWW, a nice half week ahead, and stay safe!!
Peter
