HWW ~ Pöstlingberg Church from Linz city centre
Seen on our Linz city walkabout. Although the church on the hill was to be our later destination we had a taste of culture here first.
The sculpture is actually the Nibelungenschiff by Peter Dimmel. In the context of Richard Wagner's opera cycle, "Der Ring des Nibelungen," it refers to the ship, sometimes depicted as a vessel on the river Rhine, where the magic ring is forged and the story of the Nibelungs unfolds. The Nibelungs are a race of dwarven-like beings in the myth, and the ring, forged by Alberich, is a central object of power and conflict in the cycle
Enjoy the day.

A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Very nice composition, especially the contrast between the big column and the little church in the distance. They work well together!
Best Wishes, HWW, a nice half week ahead, and stay safe!!
