Thanks a lot Rosa. In this instance we did not go up as we had quite a busy agenda. We have been up and I think even paid the high entrance price to go in, many years back now. As you surmise, I don't think the climb for this would have been too troubling. Glad you liked the PiP too.

It was a fine Island Steve with places and buildings like this. There are not many places in the UK with as much history as Holy Island.

Good to see you again Dave. In this instance we drove and parked up on the Island itself. I think the last time we went, we did walk across and back even after returning with the car. Twas funny to see a father and child get there feet wet a the tide raced over the causeway as they where running across. Been in the castle then too but not this time.

I think this has something to do with Mont Saint Michel. I think the high and low tide.

Hi Daniela. Always good to see you here. I don't really think this has anything to do with Mont Saint Michel at all, this being on Holy Island Northumberland near Scotland and your St Michel in France. I know both castles are on similar high rocks though. I rather doubt the families knew each other!

It is a beautiful island Herb and these shots are terrific. I particularly like the main image of the castle. It pays to go over as early as is possible as it does get very busy.

Thanks Andy. To be honest I had never heard of him until reading his name for this from Wiki. He did design quite a lot of famous buildings here and abroad (especially in India) and so this would have been one of his minor works I suppose. So we both 'live and learn'. Glad you liked it.
