I am afraid that this photo reflects the mood that I feel on hearing todays news of the full invasion of Ukraine by Russia!

Tobban Horse: Taken from the big beach of Porthtowan we look south at this big rock and headland known as Tobban Horse. Behind on the hill is the remains of an old chimney proably belonging to the old quarry and mines that were around here. A little further just beyond this headland sits a small cove known as ‘Sally’s Bottom’ that sadly we never got to.
This taken with my long lens that highlights the sea spray from the pounding waves.

I fully understand where you're coming from Herb..............although it was widely expected, the news of the invasion of Ukraine was a shocking thing to wake up to. My thoughts are with Ukraine and her people at this sad and very dangerous time.

On to your photo............it's very dark and dramatic. I like that you've managed to get some decent separation between the cliffs in the distance and the large rock formation in the centre left. They also contrast well with the dark rocks in the foreground. Beautifully captured.

One wonders and worries what will come next. A small flame can start a large fire! This is already looking like a fanning fire-storm.

Good at least that you enjoyed the photo here. A moody picture for a moody day! Lets hope tomorrows picture will be brighter!

It's a beautiful and dramatic shot Herb. It came as no surprise that he invaded Ukraine. He was going to do it, whatever! I wonder if he would be as keen if he had to fight on the front line!
