Thanks Gordon, glad you liked it. No idea of the purpose of these things. Certainly not animal control! Maybe it has something to do with weather -snow build perhaps. As there are gates at both ends I cannot believe they are to control car-parking etc on here but that being said, these might have been here before the gates so....

Great to see people out walking...........it may be windy (as the lady's red hair suggests), but at least it's dry and sunny.

I spotted the dog too! In fact I was quite familiar with Spot the Dog when my grandchildren were much younger.

Ah, you know - I was thinking of you when I wrote the word 'plethora' as I know you like these descriptive adjectives :) I too remember seeing 'Spot the Dog' books and short stories when our grandchildren were younger.
As for the fences themselves... No idea of the purpose of these things. Certainly not animal control! Maybe it has something to do with weather -or snow build perhaps. As there are gates at both ends I cannot believe they are to control car-parking as people park on the roadside up to this dam in limited spaces but that being said, these might have been here before the gates so..
There are three reservoirs along a dry road/track here and therefore very accessible to many walkers and lover of fine countryside. We come here from the opposite direction up and down a very steep stony lane about 0.75miles long -we see very few walkers on that.

The purpose of the fence will remain a mystery then Herb..............not that is matters, they're very photogenic.

It was gorgeous weather here yesterday........winter sunshine and quite chilly. Today was cloudier and much colder........we're told that tomorrow will be strong winds and heavy rain and Monday will be similar! Roll on summer!
