The Wonders of Mallorca: The Canyon de la Calabra’ from the sea.

The Wonders of Mallorca: The Canyon de la Calabra’ from the sea.
Our catamaran has finally arrived here and it will soon be time to disembark. For me alone - a picnic near the boat piers. Afterwards we will walk left along the just visible pathway to the Torrent. We did see the very top of this canyon road a few days earlier and it was seeing that, that decided us to go by water :) We returned from here after just a couple of hours in a more conventional boat that suited Eileen far better. Oh this scene! What can one say? – words almost fail!

Incidentally, this photo is still on GE via my old Panoramio account uploads.

Best seen full screen.

Erhard Bernstein, John FitzGerald, J. Gafarot, homaris and 20 other people have particularly liked this photo

Fabulous place and shot, Herb!
I'm not sure what you mean by still visible on Google Earth via Panoramio. Is this something others can access? I was never really sure what the link between the two entities was anyway (I avoided Google for years if I could possible help it so never understood what they had to offer until relatively recently and never got to grips with GE).
I know I'm a techno-ignoramus! Years ago, an office junior gave me the nickname of Techno-King. She wasn't being complimentary!

Thanks Andy. So glad you like this rocky scene. Yesterday, I tried to place that big rock near here so I looked on Google Earth (I also use nearly as much Bing Maps which for Britain also has everything in Ordinance Survey mode), anyway there were lots of photos showing up in this canyon area and to my surprise this photo was there. I was the acknowledged author. From within the old (Google) Panoramio I mapped most of my photos and they all appeared on Google Earth. When Panoramio finished, most of my photos, like other peoples, photos disappeared from GE too but for some reason there are still some on. This is a rare find but I have seen at least one of my Dovestones (out of 30+) still there. I don't think I could remove them however, if I wanted to. The ability to add my photos onto a World map accessed by millions was always one of the best features of Panoramio. Hope this clarifies things for you. -I thought everyone was a computer expert nowadays but I know it was not always the case. I used to teach people computer skills at Colleges and schools before settling down to the more technical aspects of it all.

Thanks a lot Toz. I think this was posted into Panoramio in the last weeks. Great that you have enjoyed it. Look forward to your next Whitby presentation.
