Isolation walk 2020

Isolation walk 2020
As the C19 pandemic gains more repeated footholds around the world, here in my hometown of Oldham we have just been advised that as being in the top five worse places for new cases in the UK, we should take extra precautions again. This view encompasses one of our three ‘isolation walks’ along the old railway, now a linear park.

The two Pips show, what I consider two more interesting views of the same bridge taken some time ago now, also here in Ipernity. Click on the pictures to be taken to the originals.

I love this kind of shot Herb. The first PiP, with the strong shadows is superb and the misty shot is gorgeous. The dappled sunlight in the main shot is very appealing. Three very successful pictures! Cheers, Rosa.

Beautifully composed, Herb. I'd agree about the PiPs, the low level lighting makes the first, while the weather adds mystery to the second. Still, this is an image I'd be happy to have taken. Stay safe.

Great framing, beautiful light and lovely dappled shadows............very nicely done Herb.

I really like the image in the first PiP - it's a wonderful study in light and shadow. Just fantastic!

I saw the other image back in November and commented at the time, but it's always nice to have a second look.

Such a shame to hear that you are having to go back to taking extra precautions against Covid-19, I'm afraid we'll probably all get a taste of that at some time in the not-to-distant future. There seem to be a lot of people who are still not wearing face coverings in shops when they should and for some of them social distancing seems to be a thing of the past.

Great that you still like to see these images Keith. Yes, we all have our favourites. As said to Toz, I have some nice deep snow winter ones of it too -somewhere.

C19- I must admit that in many ways, I am starting to feel annoyed with the whole thing and want it to go away! I have areal holiday soon and so I wait every day with trepidation.

Hi Peter. Glad you liked these. I think we will be safe to roam these paths whatever as we are not on any forced 'stay-at'home' list. We are both vulnerable to some degree though, to do with age, diabetes etc but these paths, we will continue to enjoy. We have a real trip coming soon -we hope!

A lovely landscape, things could be worse .... I often think of my grandparents who faced far more difficult times in WWII, with the Germans right across the border, not knowing when they would be invaded and what would happen to them then. Not to mention being short of fuel and food and much that we take for granted for our comfort these days.
Plus, we have photography ... and don't even have to pay for expensive film! :-)
