Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
A HFF to all from the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wales. A big fence needed here to stop walkers from falling down this great height. Note, there is only a fence on one side. On the other, there is a 20cm iron lip to stop canal boats going over!
The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct at 307m in length, is a navigable aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Canal across the River Dee in north east Wales. The 30m high, 18-arched stone and cast iron structure, which took ten years to design and build, was completed in 1805. - Another triumph for Telford,

Salford Quays lift bridge

Walk with me across this impressive bridge in my nearest city.
The Salford Quays lift bridge, also known as the Salford Quays Millennium footbridge or the Lowry bridge, is a 91.2-metre long vertical lift bridge spanning the Manchester Ship Canal between Salford and Trafford in Greater Manchester opened in 2000.

The lifting bridge at Salford Keys, Manchester. A new bridge going over one of the many waterways at these keys, from 'The Lowery Centre' to Imperial Point. A lot of glass around here, hence the interesting reflections too.
Glenfinnan viaduct with the The Highlands West Coa…
As the 'Lancashire Fusilier' a Stanier Black Five Class 5MT 4-6-0 locomotive (45407) takes there lucky riders from Mallaig to Fort William and beyond, we photographers luxuriate in its passing here on the viaduct. The engine here is driving in reverse, pulling, as it could not turn around in the Mallaig station. Enjoy
Pont de Tancarville
A steel suspension bridge that crosses the Seine River and connects Tancarville and Marais-Vernier, near Le Havre.
Main bridge length: 960m, 50m above river, main span 608m. Pylon height: 123m
Start of build 1955, finished in 1959 at a cost of 9 billion francs. In the 1990s it was realised that the cables had corroded (as has beset the Forth Road Bridge) and the shoulders were crumbling. In 1996-99 both the cables and shoulders were successfully replaced. wiki
The fabulous Pont de Normandie
Who could not be impressed by such a structure.
The Pont de Normandie was opened in 1995 and was then the world’s largest cable-stayed bridge. It spans the river Seine linking Le Havre to Honfleur in Normandy, northern France. Its total length is 2,143metres – 856 metres between the two piers. It has a clearance of 52 m and total height of 215 m.
A pleasure to see like this and a costly pleasure to drive over.
Stormy skies over Pont de Normandie

Walking along the famous River Seine in the early evening can result in witnessing some impressive lighting. These clouds were to bring some heavy rain during the night but thankfully all was well again for the next day. The sun-beams here were almost like watching the Aurora Borealis , coming and going.
A road bridge salutes a yacht!
All pedestrian and car traffic comes to a halt as this yacht sails into this small inner harbour. Enjoy the reflections here.
Seen in the pretty town of Honfleur, France.
Bridge over The Mosel
Seen whilst sailing the Mosel at the golden hour.
The Moselle Viaduct carries the Bundesautobahn 61 over a meander of the river Moselle, connecting the Hunsrück and Eifel mountain ranges. This is only about 6miles (9km) from its entry into the Rhein at Koblenze.
See PiP for high view.
Gimbletts Mill Bridge, Laneast
Re-built in 1847 after the great flood. This takes the road by the Mill itself which was built in the 17c complete with the old Millers house. For me, part of an Inny Valley walk in Cornwall.

The Jocobite greets us on the Glenfinnan Viaduct
Travel through the past on this iconic West Coast special steam train over the equally iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct. The driver having just pulled the whistle valve for us steam addicts raises the hairs on our neck. Enjoy
- This is the steam Locomotive BR 44871, LMS 4871, Stanier Black Five Class 5MT 4-6-0

Loch Nan Uamh viaduct

This very nice low viaduct carries the famous West Coast Line railroad up the port of Mallaig. It has about eight arches but this frames the pleasant scene nicely for me.
Puente Del Ejecito - Fuengirola, Spain
Just on the south side of the Spanish Costa Del Soll holiday resort of Fuengirola stands the Castillo de Sohail and Del Ejecito bridge. A great place to be and explore.
A Chatsworth view

Chatsworth House in Derbyshire is the setting for this view. The great house lies just right out of picture but these arches are easily as interesting.

Culloden Viaduct
Also called 'The Clava (or Nairn)' viaduct. An awe inspiring railway viaduct near the historical battlefield. Not the perfect weather here of blue skies or the 'golden hour' but an overcast day that, in its way suits this giant structure. I ask myself, should I have stayed for a train -but they were all modern ones. A steam locomotive -ah, that would have been worth waiting for. Taken on my North Scotland tour of 2014 but getting a new outing here.
Worth a full screen viewing, I advice :)

Ronda and the Puente Nuevo
This gorge (El Tajo), separates the city’s circa-15th-century new town from its old town, dating to Moorish rule. Puente Nuevo, a fabulous stone bridge spanning the gorge, offers sweeping views to the valley below and the distant mountains.
