Herbs garden birds, Robin

Herbs garden birds, Robin
Two days in my garden, with an opportunity to snap our birds. Of course without the feeder, this would be a different story. This robin is a local character and along with at least one other, has been a frequent visitor all year. This capture is quite unusual because robins are more known to be ground feeders and indeed this is the case for ours too, but on occasion it has a go at getting the seeds as we see here. Enjoy PiPs too.

, Erhard Bernstein, Andy Rodker, Peter_Private_Box and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

nice catch especially as you say robins are not inveterate feeder birds at all. I've been seeing a lot of baby robins in last few days, the pliumage is strikingly different looking without the red

Thanks Richard. I never get tired of seeing these and often they will come very close to us in the garden to checkout what we are doing. Like you we have seen some cute babies too. Thanks for another call, I do know that you are much more than me, interested in capturing wild-life, at a very high standard!

Thanks a lot George. Not really my speciality at all but I do like them and when they are so close, I might as well try to capture them like this.

Hi Herb,

Nicely taken! The robins in my garden will also take from the feeders. I guess it is Darwin's theories at work again..... Adapting to the environment!

Best Wishes, HFF, and a good weekend

You are so right Peter. I had hardly seen this thing before with Robins -at least not successfully. I have seen out Robins flutter up to the rest but never quite succeeding before now. Good to know that are doing it elsewhere too.
