Herbs garden birds, juvenile Green finch and female adult

Herbs garden birds, juvenile Green finch and female adult
Two days in my garden, with an opportunity to snap our birds. Of course without the feeder, this would be a different story. Here we see some of the frequent visitors here, our Green finches (Carduelis chloris). However this is the first time that I have caught an obvious juvenile still with its chick-looks and feathers but well able to feed itself. Above, mummy is obviously the guide.

Thanks again Richard. We seem to have seen an increase in our Greenfinch population of late. Maybe something to do with the weather of climate-change perhaps. No sign of reduced disease numbers here, thank goodness.

Thanks for this Carol. Today, three weeks later (sorry for delay) I still see all the birds in this series except the woodpecker. We often think this house and gardens are getting too much for us as we grow ever older but I would miss these birds very much so a good few years left yet here.
