This little church only opens ion high days and holidays, Mo, so you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be freezing inside - even in mid summer. ;-)

Except for the cross and maybe the gravestones I wouldn't have guessed this is a church. A beautiful wintry Norwegian landscape! Belated HFF and a good weekend, Amelia!

It's very plain isn't it, Gudrun? The small, stone church was built around the year 1250.and can sit 150 people. The building was restored in 1864, and there has been some recent renovation work done on it too.

Dear Sarah, thank you so much for that really lovely compliment. This little church is in a delightful setting by a river. It doesn't open very often, but is always open at Easter, which is an important part of the Norwegian calendar.;

Thank you, Roger. There wasn't much snow near the coast in 2012, but inland there is always lots of snow, and I cane across a wall of snow in the summers of 2014.
