Antonieta Roque Gameiro (sculptor) - (escultora)
Armando Taborda8 comments1770 visits4Antonieta Roque Gameiro, specialized sculptor of the woman body knows the feminine sensibility through her mouldering hands and settles their individual and social attitudes before the existence through the terra-cotta burning up or the everlasting hardness of bronze. Concretely we are seriously settled down on the women's kingdom, very often girls, alone, plunged into the intimacy of their nature and beauty, smiling, meditating or waiting for a sudden and surprising love. The poses,… (read more)
SCULPTURE PASSION

(read more)
José Neto (painter & sculptor) - (pintor e escultor) - Part I
Armando Taborda11 comments2082 visits3Life is made of living...Dream is made of dreaming. The painting and sculpture of José Neto is made of life and dream. Frequent endogenous dreams from his metaphysical mind, expressed by colours, forms and techniques that life has generously taught him. Neither all his mysteries will be unveiled, nor his original style easily referenced but, for sure, the painting and sculpture of José Neto fascinates us and challenges our capacity to dream together with him. A vida faz-s… (read more)
Manuela Horta (painter & sculptor) - (pintora & escultora)
Armando Taborda1 comment751 visits1At her own private space, the ARThaus-Atelier , we are given by Manuela Horta with intermittent but diversified creative paintings, mixed techniques and installations, the last two focused on the sculptor she claims to be the first condition of her alter ego. We win the possibility to identify one personalized artist from modern and minimalist expression where elements of geometric context, very often abstract, symbolize her souls' status, emblematic situations and others from more or less ir… (read more)

Ethnic sculptures from Camgib, Seirf and Ekoc
Jen Pedler974 visitsTry saying the places names backwards and you'll get what it's all about! And if that doesn't give it away, this guy will... Its 'The Chapman Family Collection' at the Tate Britain. We wandered in to the darkened room and walked among what at first seemed to be a collection of ethnic carvings. Then Jade said, "Isn't that Ronald McDonald?" And the we realised that every one of the 34 sculptures had a McDonald's connection! Like this one with arms in the shape of the golden arches:… (read more)

Copyright is tough, but it tries to be fair...
Sami Serola (inactive)39 comments766 visits10Here are some useful sources to understand what all can be protected by copyright laws, and what copyright is about: Copyright rules by subject matter explained at Wikimedia Commons. And the same in French . Intellectual property wiki People often take the copyright lightly, ignores it, or simply don't know it very well. We easily refer to fair use , which more or less covers only cases in United States, but should not be stretched to cover publications globally shared on Inte… (read more)
(read more)
It was a great day for me......
Jenny McIntyre14 comments80 visits1As you know the other day was my big 70th birthday, although I felt depressed enough just being aware of how old I am, but as Mickey pointed out to me last night, after I had my big sub-arachnoid haemorrhage, every year is a bonus to me and that's quite true. So in a way I'm not 70 - I'm only 10!!!!! My neighbours Ann and Yvonne took me out to a local Royal Horticultural Society gardens. Now January isn't the best time of year to visit the gardens because there aren't many flowers out and the… (read more)
