don't know if you'll see this or not, but reading you comment about "bloody blue sky" reminded me of when I (foolishly) live in Arizona. we would wake up in the morning and say "another goddamn beautiful day in Phoenix, Arizona." (please excuse the swearing if it offends). i grew up and smartly moved back to the Pacific Northwestern United States, and so am really truely a 'raingirl'! luckily my now husband swept into Arizona and brought me back to my senses.

Re: registering, I'm in favour that the register is open before the meeting, like at a physical meeting, so that people can sign it when they join and we can effectively start the meeting at 6pm without waiting attendees to sign.

If it is closed 10 or 15 minutes after the opening that must be very clearly communicated in advance, too! Attendees then should be recommended to enter the group a littlbe bit earlier. It would be a bad outcome if some members couldn't participate because they struggle with their computers. We need to consider that some participants might not be as tech savvy as other participants.

Re: documents/reports, I have understood that some documents are available in advance and other documents will be made available during the assembly. It should be clearly communicated before the meeting which documents will not be available in advance. And it should be clearly communicated whether documents published during the meeting will be posted in the welcome thread or in an other thread. In the latter case in the welcome thread a link might be postet. Attendees should know in advance where the documents will be posted during the meeting.

Während ich noch in all den Artikeln der IMA aus März nach den angesprochenen Tagesordnungspunkten gesucht habe, habe ich den Zugang zur "Wahl-Gruppe" verloren.
Ehe ich die Gruppe wiedergefunden hatte (unter "IMA-Gruppen steht jede Menge alter unwichtiger Quatsch, das WICHTIGE kommt unter "ferner liefen" !), hat Rob schon die Diskussion geschlossen.
Ich stell mir grad vor, was passiert, wenn das am 31. März noch mehreren Teilnehmern passiert - ist die Abstimmung dann überhaupt gültig ?

I.ü.: DISCORD lief auch nicht. Ich konnte zwar einloggen, sollte dann aber ein Zusatz-Tool für Textbearbeitung kaufen ...

Wie genau hast Du Discord genutzt? Man kann das ja über den Browser nutzen oder eine eigene APP herunterladen. Ich habe die Windows-app benutzt und hatte keine Probleme. Hast Du versucht, Discord mit dem Brower zu nutzen oder hast Du eine app heruntergelade? Wenn ja, mit welchem Betriebssystem hast Du die APP geneutzt und wo hast Du sie heruntergeladen? Kommt mir komisch vor, dass versucht wurde, Dir ein Zusatztool zu verkaufen. Ist mir nicht passiert.

So wie ich es verstanden habe, ist die Kommunikation über Discord durchaus für alle gedacht. Das ist eigentlich ein prima Weg, um schnell eine Frage zum Ablauf der Versammlung in dieser Gruppe zu stellen. Ich würde ganz gerne herausfinden, was bei der schief gelaufen ist. Von dem, was Du beschreibst, bin ich mir nicht ganz sicher, ob Du wirklich die richtige App heruntergeladen hast.

Deshalb die Frage: Von wo hast Du die App heruntergeladen? Von der Internetseite www.discordapp.com? Oder im Chrome Web Store? Oder im Windows Store?

Wenn man auf www.discord.com oder www.discordapp.com geht, so gibt es dort einen Button "Für Windows herunterladen". Wenn man den klickt, kann man die Windows App herunterladen. So habe ich das gemacht.

Hat man ein anderes Betriebssystem, so kann man oben links auf "Herunterladen" klicken. Scrollt man herunter, wird einem die Discordapp für diverser andere Betriebssysteme einschließlich Mac angeboten.

Hast Du es mal über den Weg versucht?

The correct application for desktop can be found on their own web site:

Language choice for user interface is on up right corner on the web site.

On desktop you can even use it simply on the browser. No need to install anything. You only need an account. But because I see you already have one on discord, Heidi, then just go to that address and login.

thanks, Sami, will have a second look next. Indeed, I got 2 "Welcome-Mails" from Discord. And also a text-welcome from Antje P. .... found it today morning in my mailbox ...

1) If we have few attendees only on Discord only, we may allow commenting on chat for them as well, like during the rehearsal.

2) I recommend we advice everyone using Discord to make sure they have notifications switched on for all messages.

3) Maybe it is enough if all declare as present at once on the group. So, no need to separate the ima team and attendees.

4) Could be a good idea to give a link to agenda at first, and instruct to open it on another tab.
And to documents.

5) If there comes long breaks for those who are not on chat, they may start to wonder...

6) What becomes published only during meeting should be declared on the group more clear.

7) When declaring the commenting open, this was found not as true: "During this time, the comment function will be disabled for you to avoid any confusion." We can't close the discussion during the meeting.

8) Empty votes should be noted. If for example 12 attendees, and some of them does not vote at all, it should be mentioned.

9) If votes recounted because of an error, it should be said on assembly posts. "Error found, recounting takes place."

10) Could be nice to have some music while waiting =D (Just kidding)

With respect to Your first point: It is my understanding that the official assembly only takes place in the group discussions while discussions at Discord are primarily intended to advise attendees what to do in the group discussions or to report technical problems or errors. If an attendee wants to officially comment on the discussions of the general assembly that must in my view always be done in the group for the general assembly itself.

So maybe it would be helpful to communicate more clearly for what purposes the chat on Discord is used.

Yes, I agree on this, Guido. And it should be declared already in the very beginning of the meeting at the group under "Welcome", few minutes before the meeting starts.

Like: "You are welcome to follow the chat of meeting organizers on Discord. Please comment on Discord only to report technical problems."

For me it feels if the whole thing becomes more and more for 'computer freaks' and not for 'computer dummies' (like me).

Jaap, the purpose of the last several comments was to give and get feedback after the rehearsal meeting we had on Sunday evening. The goal is to make the final IGA2019 as smooth and easy as possible for all.

Jaap, don't worry. :-) it is easier to participate in the General Assembly than you might think. Virtually the whole assembly takes place in the welcome-thread of the Ipernity General Assembly 2019 Group. You will have to refresh your browser window regularly (e.g. by hitting F5) during the assembly in order to see new posts. Sometimes you will have to go to another thread of that group in order to vote. And at the beginning you need to go to the sign in thread in order to confirm your presence (important!). But you will always have to go back to the welcome-thread and see what is posted there.

Discord is NOT part of the official assembly. It is a second communication channel that allows to quickly exchange thoughts when there is a technical problem or something goes wrong. You are not required to participate in the Discord Chat. So if it is too confusing for you, then simply look what happens in the welcome thread and follow instructions given there.

Ich finde, der Test ist schon ganz gut gelaufen. Bei ein paar Kleinigkeiten hat es vielleicht ein bisschen gehakt. Aber dafür ist ein Test ja da, dass man Schwachstellen identifiziert, um es dann bei der echten Versammlung besser machen zu können.

Am Anfang müssen sich alle in dem sign-in-thread der Ipernity General Assembly 2019 Gruppe registrieren. Es ist daher wichtig, dass dieser thread lange genug geöffnet bleibt, damit auch solche Mitglieder, die vielleicht ein paar Minuten zu spät kommen oder am Anfang mit der Technik kämpfen, sich noch registrieren können. Es wurde dann auch darüber diskutiert, ob der sign-in-thread vielleicht schon ein bisschen vor dem eigentlichen Beginn der Versammlung geöffnet werden soll. Ich bin überzeugt, dass das IMA-Team da auf Basis des Tests eine gute Vorgehensweise finden wird.

Eigentlich muss man immer nur verfolgen, was in dem Willkommen-Thread der Gruppe passiert. Wenn man die Seite regelmäßig neu lädt, kriegt man mit, was dort gepostet wird. Wenn man einmal für eine Abstimmung oder am Anfang für die Registrierung in einen anderen thread gehen muss, kriegt man genaue Anweisungen, was zu tun ist. Man kommt dann immer wieder in den Willkommen-Thread zurück.

Der Discord-Chat ist ganz nett, um sich schnell auszutauschen, wenn z.B. irgendwas schief läuft oder ein technisches Problem besteht. Man muss da aber nicht teilnehmen. Das offizielle Programm der Versammlung läuft in der Gruppe und insbesondere im Willkommen-Thread ab.

Just a pity I had to leave earlier yesterday, so I misssed a part of the meeting.
Next year better.

Hopefully we manage to make it faster next time. Three hour meeting was rather exhausting experience to all of us. But also a very good learning process.

Next ipernity general assembly supposedly takes place in March 2021. New selected ima team works in 2 years periods. That is why we chose to call it general assembly instead of annual meeting.

My mistake, corrected thanks to Jaap. From now on general assembly is indeed annual. So, see you again around March 2020! =)

The new statutes of IMA (ARTICLE VI – MEETINGS OF MEMBERS / Section 1 – say:
Ipernity General Assembly: An Annual Meeting of Members shall be held in March.

(By the way in ARTICLE V – MEMBERSHIP I do read a couple of times "premium" or "premium membership". In my opinion it should be "Standard")

That's a verbal inconsistency we've missed. It should be corrected at the next change.

Many thanks to the IMA-team for the great organisation. It was fun and we have learned some things for next year. :-)

With regard to the statutes: Perhaps next year we all should read the text some time in advance of the assembly and submit our questions and suggestions to the IMA-team before the meeting. So we might avoid hectic discussions at the general assembly itself. :-)

Good suggestion. But annual meeting has several aspects that may need annual checkpoints anyway, like the budget and user statistics. Anyway, I make sure our new board takes this under consideration.

This has to be checked by Eric, because any regulation must be in accordance with French association law. It should also be considered that the General Assembly closes the financial year by approving the audited accounts.

Everyone, please don't hesitate to give feedback if you have any ideas how to improve the meeting next time.

Hello Everyone. I thought I would be brave and mention Covid19. In the UK there is now a lockdown with many restrictions to daily life. There will be more restrictions soon.

Hi Colin, I am in Oregon on the west coast of the states. We have complete restrictions except for essential services. Parks are closed. We can walk/hike/exercise - but we don't have a very densely packed population. I can walk around my neighborhood and only see one or two people - and easily be 20 feet away from anyone (our recommendation is 6 feet away for social distancing). Sadly/oddly, the natural social distancing that suburbia creates here is helpful for me and many here.

I have to be extra careful as I go to caretake my 96 year old mother once or twice a week. But we are fine. My daughter brings us groceries once a week!

I'm suprised that England took as long as it did to get to the restrictions.

But I am hopeful, as you are, about changes afterwards. I imagine that because of the terrible financial effect that businesses will lead a change. (Though I'm hoping personal changes will take place as well) To start I'm crossing fingers that with many businesses being forced to have their work force at home that they will realise that it really does work! They have been able to do that for years, and many are chicken - thinking people won't really get things done. But if just that happened - everyone working from home most of the time when they can - there would be a drastic change in so many things.

it's been the same in France for two weeks. Social relations are reduced to a strict minimum, we work mostly at home. Hospitals are congested and access is restricted.
This situation is identical in many countries today. A third of the population is confined....
