Kargil, ça a bien changé depuis que j'y suis passé pour la première fois en 1982. J'étais très jeune à cette époque. Il n'y avait qu'une demi-douzaine de maisons en terre et un grand temple bouddhiste. Aujourd'hui c'est la communauté musulmane (pro-pakistanaise) qui est majoritaire. C'est à cet endroit que l'Inde et le Pakistan se livrent parfois des duels d'artillerie.

La dernière fois que je suis retourné au Ladhak en Juin 2017, la route entre Leh et Srinagar était coupée avant Kargil car il y avait de nouvelles tensions à la frontière.
