Topic search
Lesson learned on information seeking. If one wish to discover a good selection of images on certain topic, then there are number of things to consider.
Search for recent images on topic "cat" will give a lot of "noise":
[EN] www.ipernity.com/search/photo?opt=1&q=cat&w=0&t=0&lic=&s=2
Somewhat the same on any language chosen:
[NL&DE] www.ipernity.com/search/photo?opt=1&q=kat&w=0&t=0&lic=&s=2
[FR] www.ipernity.com/search/photo?opt=1&q=chat&w=0&t=0&lic=&s=2
However, there is an option to limit the search on keywords (if used):
[EN] www.ipernity.com/search/photo?opt=1&q=cat&w=0&t=0&lic=&s=2&m=1
[NL&DE] www.ipernity.com/search/photo?opt=1&q=kat&w=0&t=0&lic=&s=2&m=1
[FR] www.ipernity.com/search/photo?opt=1&q=chat&w=0&t=0&lic=&s=2&m=1
That is somewhat the same as to access certain keywords directly:
[EN] www.ipernity.com/explore/keyword/10560?s=2
[NL&DE] www.ipernity.com/explore/keyword/10560?s=2
[FR] www.ipernity.com/explore/keyword/10011?s=2
Search on keywords is however maybe better, because it should then cover plurals and compound words.
But what one should not overlook is the power of groups. People gathering together to collect images on certain topics can be the best way to find images on that topic. And it then is free from limitations of language searches:
▶️ Groups where "cat" appears on the title or description
So, a group can be seen as an alternative for keywords. People then describe the content according to group topic, free from language barriers!

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to tiabunna clubSo far I have usually relied on word search. And it does work on rather specific concepts like boomerang:
www.ipernity.com/search/photo/@/page:2:20?w=0&q=boomerang
Although, even that topic seem to give rather peculiar results. The shape seem to be the topic there. What makes the word search especially good is that it covers also comments. So, if the author has forgot use any good words in the title, caption and keywords, then maybe someone else has on the comments below.
But on very broad concepts, and especially when the word has homonyms, the search results are not good. Like the given example cat.
