SSC: Use less electricity in 2019

...guter Plan, hab seit 2007 von 7.000 kWh auf 2.500 kWh reduziert. Geht nicht? Doch geht wirklich. Und ich hab immer noch Pläne :-)

Wow! Wir sind z Zt. bei 2350 kWh und ich will auf 2000 kWh runter. Wir können uns ja gelegentlich austauschen ;-)

Unser Zwei-Personen-Haushalt hatte auf der letzten Jahresrechnung 1.784 kWh, davor 1.940 kWh.
Ich habe da kein Ziel. Vielleicht noch 11 Glüh-/ Halogen-Lampen in 4 Räumen in LEDs umtauschen.
Aber die sind so selten an...

A very noble resolution to make, Henning! I wish you much success! Wow, your apartment building was built in 1250??? I cannot conceive of a building that is over 500 years old! It was obviously built to last, lol!

Yes, our house was definitely built in the 13th century, although nobody can tell the exact date (so they say "around 1250"). It almost looks like a little castle, as it was then the modern style of (very) rich families who made their money because of the major trade route on the Danube. Regensburg marks the northernmost point of the Danube and they built the medieval stone bridge here - for a long time the only secure river crossing.

Thank you for providing further information on your building! I would love to visit Europe to see these architectural wonders!

So genau ist das Baudatum nicht aufgezeichnet. Die gesamte (heute noch großteils existierende) Altstadt Regensburgs wurde in den Boom-Jahren der Stadt zwischen 1200 und 1300 AD gebaut, darunter auch das Haus, in dem wir (zur Miete) wohnen. Da findet man dann die Angabe "um 1250". Danach ging es finanziell bergab mit Regensburg, so dass niemand Geld hatte, die Stadt zu renovieren (wie es meist in Kontinentaleuropa geschah). In den Weltkriegen hatte Regensburg Glück und ca. seit 1980 gibt es auch wieder wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung.

When we moved into our new house I changed almost every light bulb to LED. It is getting to the point where it is nearly impossible to use less energy without the help of such technologies.

Yes, a very worthwhile resolution. I hate paying too much for electricity and my wife gets a bit cross when I go around the house turning everything off :-)
