Pentewan Sands Campsite near St Austell in Cornwall about August 1961
The white colouration in the sea was caused by the discharge
outfall from the old St Austell china clay works that was operating
at the time.
Scanned and recovered from a faded Kodachrome slide

WOW WOW WOW, what a fascinating image, Roger, and what a great save. Super angle to show the campsite and the beach, along with the white discharge from the clay works. I looked up this place on the internet, and the campsite is still going and naturally, very popular. Great shot and a wonderful historical image as well. Thanks for sharing! :)
