Eashing Medieval Double Bridge with River Wey in flood

Eashing Bridge is a medieval double bridge over the River Wey
at Eashing, one of the remaining six 13th Century bridges
constructed by monks from Waverley Abbey near Fanham, Surrey.
This is a substantial medieval stone double bridge at Eashing,
part of the Waverley Abbey series of constructions.
Now cared for by the National Trust both bridges were repaired
and then gifted to the Trust by The Old Guildford Society in 1901.
The bridges are now protected by Scheduled Ancient Monument
status.
A sign erected by the National trust at the bridges reads:
This medieval double bridge is the best of a series on the Wey
between Farnham and Guildford which were probably built as a
group by the monks of Waverley Abbey in the 13th century.
Of particular interest are the downstream cutwaters which are
rounded to prevent eddying of the water and consequent wearing
down of the piers. Given, together with the approaches, by the
Old Guildford Society in 1901.
