River Axe Estuary ~ Seaton
River Axe Estuary ~ In the South East of Devon the Axe Valley has a 1 mile long estuary, comprising of mudflats with marshes on the West Bank. The estuary and marshes are separated by a Tramway that runs North to South. The Southern section of marshes is run by East Devon District Council and is a Local Nature Reserve. On this occasion we didn't have time to take the tram, but look forward to doing so next time.

All quite close to home though Herb ;-) It is good for walks, especially as I'm not a beach person. Sometime I would like to take the tram and investigate the wetlands.

I've never been to Seaton..........I really should, especially as it's not too much a a detour on the way to/or from Exmouth.......and this photo shows how lovely it is.

The boats all look splendid sat at their moorings and the houses are very attractive. I love all that vibrant greenery up on the cliffs. Beautifully composed and taken Rosa,.

I'm surprised Keith, for the reason you have mentioned! We tend to visit Sidmouth more, even though it's further away. The tramway in Seaton takes you to the wetlands nature reserve. I haven't done that yet. Lots of the usual eating places were closed but we found a great traditional cafe.

Thank you Carol. There was a pleasant breeze, thank goodness! We had a lovely day with Sophie and said next time there we would take the tram. I think it's about £11 return or you can just go half way and stay on the wetlands.
