A beautiful bunch of flowers, Rosa. I love the juxtaposition of the violet and the purple. I must admit I have never heard of that breed of dog. My proficiency in identifying dogs is on a par with with my knowledge of garden flowers; i.e. practically non-existent. Cheers, Joe

I am pleased you like the little posy Joe. I have about as much knowledge as you for dog breeds. I think the dog must regularly walk this site, as it was way ahead of its owner much of the time.

Not all Sharpei dogs have lots of wrinkles but it has the right shaped head. if you google it Rosa you'll see what Xata meant!

Anyway, this has given me an idea........I have a Y-shaped stump of an apple tree in my garden. I reckon I may be able to hollow out the two ends of the Y and plant something in it!

I thought how nice it was too Keith, and was very careful not to disturb them. Thank you for your kind comment on the photo.

I have just googled it...my word, some have got many more wrinkles! Maybe they come with age, as happens to us. LOL!

Thank you for your very kind comments dear Adele. I had heard the name Shar Pei, but had no idea what it looked like. Such a lovely dog. However, when it shook its head, there was slobber (copious amounts of saliva) everywhere! Maybe I would stick with a smaller breed like Luna ;-))

A lovely little posy in the gatepost. So colourful and guaranteed to surprise and make you smile. I like your shot of the dog too. I've never heard of the breed but it looks very attractive.

Quiet an attractive display on the post Rosalyn, I love dogs and I am sure the owner has confidence enough to let it run un-tethered. Not the sort of breed I would choose though, I say this because my dog was attacked by one of these a few years ago.

The dog would look around and wait for the owner every now and then Maurice.
People need to choose the location carefully when they want to free their dogs from a lead.

Someone went to the trouble of arranging them very nicely, if you cut off a section of the post and let in something to hold water it would make an unusual vase, I hope that the rest of your Monday Has been nice Rosalyn

A lovely posy to find on a gatepost, but I'm not keen at all on the dog.

The dog was lovely Amelia. Just all that saliva when he shook his head....yuk!!

The flowers are lovely, a little work of art with a wonderful background bokeh! I wonder how the dog managed the stile, probably squeezed through;-)
