Dovecote ~ Tytherington
Manor Farmhouse, at the north entrance to the village, is a 4-bay 2-storey house from the early 18th century. In the Sutton Veny part of the village, Ashbys (formerly Tytherington Farmhouse) carries a date of 1771. Nearby are a dovecote dated 1810 and a granary and stable of similar date.

I have to admit it's becoming a bit much for us - especially trying to sleep at night. I shall be glad for some rain and cooler temperatures.
Our visitors went back yesterday...........it was wonderful to see them after so much time and sad to see them go, but hopefully we'll get down to see them again later in the year.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton clubI have to admit it is too hot for me. I haven't slept very well, and like you, will be pleased to see rain! Sounds like it could be very heavy in places though. I had a hairdressers appointment today and that was extremely hot!
I am pleased that you you had such a lovely time with your family. I hope you get to visit them soon, as that east Devon coastline is gorgeous. I always loved Budleigh Salterton.
In the meantime, take care and keep cool!
Keith Burton club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne clubBudleigh Salterton is a 10 min drive from our daughter's home and it's one of our favourite places to visit. We love the pebbled beach and there are a couple of really good ice-cream shops too!
Glad you made the hairdressers at last............I hope it was worth putting up with the heat :-)
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton clubThe hairdresser cut too much off for my liking...but at least it grows quick.
I love watching where the estuary meets the sea at Budleigh Salterton.
I hope you get the chance to visit sometime soon.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Roger (Grisly) clubI must say that I do like these old villages, and your pictures of them.
Such a shame that visits this summer have not happened - for obvious reasons!
Best Wishes, and stay safe!!
Peter
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubThank you for your much appreciated kind comments.
Hopefully things may be a little more like normal next year. I choose where I go very carefully. The villages I visit are quite close to home. I am lucky to be on the borders of three counties, so hop in and out of Wilts, Dorset and Somerset.
Take care and beast wishes,
Rosa.
