In the Museum grounds. The inscription reads - Pte. Henry John Patch (Harry) 17th June 1898 to 25th July 2009 Age 111. C Company 7th D.C.L.I - Fought in the battle of Passchendaele during 1914-1918 war - Freeman of the City of Wells - Also representing all the brave men lost in The Great War.

A very unassuming man Ulrich. He only became well known because he was the last surviving "Tommy" from WWI and there is a book of his life. Being local to this area, we saw a lot of him on the local news. For a short time he was the oldest man in Europe. Thank you for your interest and nice comments.
