This photo was taken because I had recently received my first SLR camera and I was anxious to create art. We were never fond of the lamp but kept it out because we were poor and needed the light. I later learned that the praying toad is seen as a symbol of serenity by one of the eastern religions and in recent years I've regretted that we gave it to Goodwill a decade ago.
