Basement Dance Party.

Basement Dance Party.
This was the 1950s in the Vintage Photos Theme Park. Rock 'n Roll was here to stay, poofy skirts with petticoat support were go-to party wear for girls, along with sleeveless blouses, pumps, or saddle shoes. 45-rpm records had overtaken 78s as the standard for single recordings (some can be seen hanging from the rafters as decorations). The silhouettes on the mantle were also common home decorations where the baby boomers roamed. I think we all had one made at school in the first grade to gift our mothers on Mother's Day, and they were compelled to mount them on the wall until we became old enough to be embarrassed by them. Submitted to the VPTP for the theme, "This was the [you name the decade]".

Nouchetdu38, Smiley Derleth, Alan Mays have particularly liked this photo

A wild party! 8) Love the balloons and decorative vinyl, and the silhouettes are interesting, too. Is that you surveying the scene from the fireplace?

No, not me in the photo, Alan, but I married the jitterbugger on the far right.
