Interessant: eine Fußgänger-Hängebrücke ohne Menschen – und die Geschichte natürlich auch. Hoffentlich danken die Kinder das dem Vater später einmal!

Ruesterstaude, naja, die Brücke führt von irgendwoher nach irgendwohin; da gibts nicht soviele Leute. Eigentlich nur die Bewohner und ev. Besucher der kleinen Beiz. Und im Sommer dann natürlich ein paar Wanderer.

Kleine Beiz? Das klingt verlockend, da würde ich mich vielleicht sogar drübertrauen;-) HFF, poly!

Gudrun, ev. beim nächsten Besuch in der Schweiz? ;-)

Dida, naja, bei uns im Unterland sieht man am Morgen oft auch riesige SUV's vor den Schulen rumstehen, weil zutiefst besorgte Eltern ihren (natürlich hochbegabten) Kindern den höchst beschwerlichen Schulweg von 600 m nicht zumuten können ;-))

Schöne Geschichte, schönes Foto!

Das war aber wirklich ein liebender und fürsorglicher Vater, Poly! Mich könntest du nicht auf diese Hängebrücke locken. Wenn der Boden nicht transparent wäre.... In Delphi bin ich einmal auf einen Aussichtspunt gelaufen, aber als ich merkte, dass ich durch das Gitter in einen Abgrund sah, bin ich die Treppe auf allen Vieren wieder hinaufgekrabbelt :-))).

Uli, alles eine Frage der Alternativen! In Nepal gab es Hängebrücken, die dir schon beim Anschauen den Schauer über den Rücken liefen liessen. Aber was war die Alternative? 3, 4 Stunden Umweg. Dann überlegt man es sich einfach nochmal ;-)

Durch diese hohle Gasse (Brücke) muss er kommen. Es führt kein andrer Weg nach Küssnacht (Kleine Beiz)...frei nach Schiller ;-) ...vor allem der Blick durchs Gitter nach unten, lässt mich schauern, Poly :-)

Ellen, ach angesichts der kräftigenden Labsame, die einem auf der anderen Seite empfängt, blickt man über solche Animositäten hinweg ;-)

Excellent perspective here polytropos. Great story. There can't be too many dads who would go to these lengths to give the children an extra hour in bed!! I would still have to get up early and take the long route though - I have no head for heights. HFF and have a good week ahead

Ecobird, that's true. And as a child fear of heights isn't an issue yet. That's only in the head of the adults :-)

This is so totally cool, there are no proper words. The picture...it's outstanding! I love the perspective and dof so much...but the WORDS! It's amazing. Incredible. Touching. Profound. And in the end, his kids have a shorter distance to school after the help of a whole community. It's just wonderful and so remarkable!! Thank you so much for sharing.

LOL, Eco DOES have a point. Would I cross that bridge? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...um...would it be ok to crawl? I'm afraid of heights too, but I would walk that bridge, terrified as I would be...I have crossed suspension bridges in Costa Rica and other places as well...they totally FREAK ME OUT but I force myself to do it because I cannot allow my fears to keep me from experiencing something so special!

LOL you had me thinking about Costa Rica so I'm inserting this picture for you to see my opinion of the suspension bridge I was standing on! :D
