Scarborough West Pier & lighthouse - August 1989
This is a scan of a thirty-year-old print, found when looking for photos with lighthouses in them. We were staying in York or Ripon when we took a day trip to Scarborough. I don't seem to have taken more than a handful of photos there. In the days of film, one had to be more sparing with one's shots.

Quite timeless. A scene little changed from the 1950s/1960s when I holidayed at Scarborough. My Dad was a native of Scarborough so summer holidays were always spent visiting and staying with Grandparents, Aunties/Uncles etc.

I am pleased that it brought back memories of your holidays and family. I knew that we had made a brief visit to Scarborough, from York I think, as it was by train. Our Ripon trip was in company with my sister who drove us about. These two photos are the only ones I have of the town, it seems. I am having a sort out and a bit of a cull of prints, so I may find more. My filing has never been that systematic.
