Proof that the shiny freight engines seen on preserved lines today are not so incongruous after all............. Not that these two would have stayed like this for long in BR days.

Okay - they do look splendid like this, but my real steam memories are from the 1960s, when the writing was on the wall. Curiously for a GWR & SDJR fan, I think my favorite preserved loco is The Bluebell Railway's SECR 0-6-0 592.
