Everlasting Pea at Winchelsea Beach - Sussex

Everlasting Pea at Winchelsea Beach - Sussex
This was taken back in the 90s - probably on my little Casio compact - I only have a print so I can't check the camera I used. It has been a favorite of mine since then. I like the summer sunset light glowing through the fence and its garland of flowers.

Thanks Herb. We had several holidays there in our friends' static caravan. The walks in the evening as the Sun set are among our best memories.

Thanks, Roger. Winchelsea Beach is a lovely spot, despite two or three sizeable caravan sites. The beach has only the seawall behind it, protecting Pett Level. A icecream van parks there at the end of a lane on sunny days and the only other amenity is a small toilet block. The caravans can't be seen from the beach.

Thanks Jaap. The Sun setting behind the flowers brings out the best in them.

Phil, I can totally understand why you are so smitten by this picture. It's gorgeous, magical, moody, whimsical, soft, light, warm and colorful. So much to love about it. It's a very happy picture too...I would be proud to have taken it, WELL DONE!

Thank you for your kind words, Janet. It just seems to be the essence of a summer evening. Nothing has been planned or designed - the flowers have chosen to wrap themselves round the palings.

Thank you for your interest and kind comments on my photos, Andrew. My interest in your photos was aroused when I saw your name and your photos in the north-west. An elderly neighbour, June Marshall, has a grandson living in Chester and a son called Andy. I didn't expect that you would be connected, but I had a look at your photos out of curiosity.
Best wishes for 2020

We used to borrow a static caravan that one of our friend's family had down on the coast. It is a very quiet place, although it has several caravan parks. It made a lovely escape from the noise and traffic fumes of London. Evening walks were a delight.
Now we have retired to the seaside, I usually walk to the supermarket via the sea-front.
I hope you have a chance to relax at the weekend.
