Evening shadows and lines, outside 1000 de la Gauchetière. There is a dispute whether it is Montreal's tallest building as there is another skyscraper that is taller but only if the height of an antenna is included. Built in 1992 it has 51 floors and houses, among other things, an ice skating rink and a major bus terminal.

A cardinal on a pole. The pole is popular with the blue jays. The cardinals are usually more timid and stay in the bushes or higher up in the trees. Perhaps he was feeling bold or had been watching the jays and thought "guess what, I can do that too".

Coates English Willow Centre is great for dog walking, fresh air, all things willow, specialist shops and the cafe, dog friendly and excellent for a cuppa and toasted teacake! Open year round. The willow working demonstrations are only open in the summer months, last years harvest of withies are now drying. This "castle wall" is one of several displays of withy work in the grounds. HWW to all!
