Red seed pod after the elegant Night Blooming Cereus cactus blooms..
Seed pod forms at the base of the cereus bloom growing from green into a red seed pod. The bloom dries and falls off the end, while the seed pod is still nourished by the cactus.

Have since found out, this is a Dragon Fruit!
