Thanks Sami - this was actually the direction in which they were flying when I took the picture, so I stuck with that. All that I have done with them is mirror them, so a change in direction wasn't possible.

Oh, you are right. They would probably look perspectively incorrect if turned.

This image and the other version of yours bring 'The Wonderful Adventures of Nils' by Selma Lagerlöf into my mind. There the birds are wild gooses. Although, I recall there were also swans on that story.

These birds are all Ibis - very common in this area.

Oh, I though they are swans. Very easily one sees what is typical for one's own environment! =D

What I especially like on this image of yours is the the way how the birds comes out of the frames. Very inspiring idea, which I should try more often. It is just difficult to find a subject where it would work, like it does here on this subject.

Thanks, yes, it's something that I've been playing with for a while - I like images that fall off the edge of a picture as it gives it a 3D aspect.
