Her (93rd) birthday was on April 7.
Today in Poland we celebrate

Here it is different that in most countries around the world.

In the last 20 years I made several portraits of my uncles, aunts and other members of my extended family.
When they saw those portraits they usually were not happy to see how old they seemed then.
So when I saw a couple of those portraits accompanying their coffins at their funerals I felt really honored by the choices that their spouses or children made.

She has a marvellous face! Such a dignified portrait.

"Yes, Mom!" - I said.
"No way!" - she said - "She must be you!"
