Stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else

Some of you may remember the photo in the PiP. This piece of artwork is from the same café in Chichester, West Sussex. This time however, I've taken the opportunity to change the look into this split-colour effect. I hope you like it. Have a lovely Sunday!

Spotted this in my garden yesterday evening. The web has been made between a pair of plant support poles. No sign of the spider though, but I reckon it must be a beginner at spinning a web..........or maybe it was drunk or on drugs :-))) Please view large for best effect. Thanks for looking.

Topsham has some lovely old streets and houses and whenever we visit we go for a wander around........just being nosey really :-)) We walked past this little garden, which I couldn't resist taking a photo of.

Whilst sitting outside on a bench in our local shopping centre waiting for my wife and daughter, I noticed this mannequin and it's shadow in the window display. A quick conversion to black and white and a play with some filters, resulted in this final image.

Taken using my phone yesterday afternoon in some glorious winter sunshine, on the Quayside at Emsworth Harbour, Hampshire. These lobster pots have been donated by local businesses and residents. When the tree gets taken down the pots will be given to the local fishermen to help support Emsworth's fishing industry. At some stage Christmas carols will be sung around the tree and food will be available to enjoy, with proceeds going to charity. I recommend viewing large, on black for best effect (and to see the lobster). I wish you all a very enjoyable weekend, whatever the weather and whatever you are doing :-)

We popped into The Square Brewery, a lovely old pub in Petersfield Hampshire, last Monday to grab some lunch. We were sitting opposite this set of beer pumps which I thought were worth taking a photo of. Just in case you were wondering, I had a coffee........as I was driving :-( Cheers!

I spotted this poster whilst browsing in a charity store bookshop. It wasn't for sale, but I was allowed to take this photo. I wonder how many of today's children have ever read a real book, or had one read to them? Best viewed large........thanks for looking and have a good new week!

Me, standing on some decking on the sea front at Southsea Hampshire, on a wet and cold afternoon yesterday. I was sheltering from the wind behind a closed ice-cream stall. You can view large if you want..........but it won't make it more exciting :-))

Taken on the Sea Front at Southsea, Hampshire on a pretty grotty afternoon. This "sculpture" is made from scrap metal and is used to collect plastic bottles in the fight against plastic waste. It moves around the city to wherever it's needed. I've photographed this a few times over the years. There's a shot from 2019 in the link below: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/49238884

Which takes people from the ground and throws them about in mid air and apparently, people pay it to do so. Some even claim it's fun..!! Personally, I think I'll keep well clear of it :-)) Please view large if you have time. Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the extended weekend.

Spotted on The Hard, in Portsmouth, Hampshire. A first glance the "rope work" could be real, but in fact it is some very nicely done metalwork painted to look like knotted blue rope. I thought about adding it to Xata's group, but decided not to push my luck :-))) A close up look of one of the "ropes" in the PiP.

I spotted this in my garden yesterday afternoon...........it was trapped in a piece of spider's web against the back of the house. I thought it looked really lovely in the sunshine. After taking the photo I added a texture and a vignette in post processing. I'm pretty sure it's a neck feather from one of the wood pigeons that visit our garden bird table.

On my walk last Tuesday, I ventured on to a beach as the tide was receding and discovered this old and empty oyster shell covered in barnacles. I thought it was very photogenic and put it up on a wall to take a couple of shots. The "ghostly" sailing boats made a good background, I thought. Try viewing large for detail. Thanks for looking.
