Mudflats

Mudflats
A view across the mudflats of Langstone Harbour, taken from the sea wall at Farlington Marshes. Apparently the sailing boat had been washed from its moorings elsewhere and on to the the mudflats in strong winds........and was waiting for high tide to be recovered.

Berny, trester88, Rafael, Anton Cruz Carro and 15 other people have particularly liked this photo

Another nice low-tide impression, Keith ! I hope the water comes soon and frees this boat.

Thank you very much Ulrich.

I'm guessing he boat will have been recovered by now.........I would be too expensive to just leave it there.

This image looks so like an area near my home. I don't think there's mudflats here though, but when the tide goes out, there are lots of mud and reeds

I expect there are a lot of coastal areas that look similar in the UK Jenny. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Oh dear, I hope it can return safely to its moorings! It's a lovely picture Keith and even better viewed large. Such an interesting area, of which there are many around Portsmouth. I find maps showing that region so interesting. You get such a feel for the place once you know the layout...if that doesn't sound mad!

Have a good weekend Keith and let's hope for nice blue skies!

I would think it's been recovered by now.......it looks quite expensive and it doesn't seem damaged.

The circumnavigation of Farlington Marshes is always interesting Rosa, there is so much to see.

Using maps doesn't sound at all mad..............but I tend to go online nowadays. Google Earth can be pretty good.

I use Google maps Keith, but I have inherited my dad's many paper and linen maps, as well as others I have collected, and occasionally I go through them. My brother does the same....it must be in the genes! :-))

It looks like the anchor for the buoy failed allowing it to drift.

Glad you like this shot Roger..........thanks for dropping by and commenting. Have a good weekend yourself.
