Thank you very much Güni............glad you like this scene and especially the oak trees.

This field gets very wet as it sits less than 5 metres from the seafront and is often battered by waves in bad weather. It's been raining a lot here lately as well. Normally you'd see horses there but they've been moved until the weather improves.

A lovely shot Keith and one to be viewed large. The trees are still holding on to their autumn leaves and the ground looks saturated with the recent rain. I hope the reservoirs are holding it all safely!

Thank you Rosa.............glad you like this one. Yes, the field is saturated at the moment with both rain and from waves as it sits very close to the sea front. As far as I know our reservoirs are very healthy. While some parts of Hampshire had hosepipe bans last summer, we were lucky and didn't have any (although we were requested to use them sparingly).

On the down side our local water company has been discharging untreated sewage into our waters a lot this year..!!

Don't be fooled Ulrich............it was flippin' freezing! This was taken on the same day as the photos I posted earlier with the birds walking on the frozen mill pond.

This is a lovely rural scene, apart from the flooded floor there. You say that it's less than 5m from the seafront, does that mean that the water is sea-water rather than rainwater? This reminds me of an area near Exmouth, where the sea would sometimes encroach the fields near it like this.

Glad you like the scene Jenny..............Yes, the field is right on the seafront and the sea defences have been trashed, so when the tide is high and the wind is in the right direction the waves come right over the pathway and into the field, so I'm guessing there will be some salt water in there, but mainly it'll be rainwater. The field is sodden at the moment, so the horses that are normally in there seem to have been moved, presumably until the weather is better.

I have family in Exmouth (my daughter and two grandchildren). They live near the Estuary.

Ich mag besonders die knorrigen Eichen. Hoffen wir, dass das versickernde Wasser den Bäumen im nächsten heißen Sommer hilft.
