View Across the South Downs

View Across the South Downs
This tree was still standing until all the storms that hit the UK at the beginning of this year. It's very sad to see it like this.

Taken between on a random drive yesterday afternoon. It was a day of lovely sunshine and heavy but short-lived rain showers (which we managed to avoid).

The image in the PiP was taken from a point about 10 metres to the right of this tree.

Thanks for looking.

Long time since I went for a drive / went walking in the South Downs and I realise how much I miss the English countryside when I see such fine shots such as these, Keith!

It is sad Keith, but it makes a great anchor point in this shot, showing the beautiful verdant countryside of the South Downs. The sky is also captured beautifully.

I love your PiP with the gorgeous trees on the hill and the sheep sharing the field with another fallen tree, probably also due to the winds earlier in the year!

Thank you kind lady....................I'm lucky to live so near this lovely countryside. We were also lucky to avoid the heavy showers, but when we arrived home we had to sit in the car for 5 mins or so before the rain lessened up enough for us to dash indoors.

Schitterende opname, Keith. De oorzaak van de dode boom is zeer waarschijnlijk de zwammen aan se voet van de boom.
Hartelijke groeten, Frans.

Thank you Frans, I'm glad you like it.

The fungus wouldn't have helped, but it had been there years. It was the storms that finally felled it!
