Grotty Graffiti (+2 x PiPs)

Grotty Graffiti (+2 x PiPs)
Portsmouth and Southsea has some lovely parks and flower gardens, but like any other big city it also has some less attractive areas. One of which I found yesterday whilst exploring.

I think some of the artwork was originally quite attractive...........but it's been spoiled over time by the application of mindless graffiti, neglect, dumping rubbish and other unsavoury things. I didn't hang around here too long...............I had to be careful where I was standing and the smell was quite unpleasant :-(

On the plus side it made for some interesting photos.............I think so anyway..!!

Berny, Ulrich John, Stephan Fey, Jean Paul Capdeville and 13 other people have particularly liked this photo

I'm sure some of it was attractive to start with, but then the less talented mob get to work on it. An interesting series Keith....but I look forward to seeing more of the good talent of Portsmouth and Southsea :-)

Graffiti is perhaps the most common of the arts on our walls around the world. Warm greetings, Anton.

The main photo works really well. I like the colours even if the area was rather depressing.

I think it's pretty subjective Eunice..............one person's art is another's graffiti and vice versa. Some people see both at vandalism.

I like it if it's done properly in an appropriate place...........but I\m not a fan of midless "tagging" and pointless scribbling..!!

In einem Teil der Grafitis erkennt man Talent, der Rest ist Farbverschwendung.
