Blue Beach Hut

Blue Beach Hut
Taken about a month ago between rain showers on Hayling Island, Hampshire. Worth a look large, on black, I think.

Gabriella Siglinde, Rob, trester88, John FitzGerald and 21 other people have particularly liked this photo

It's a good image Keith and one which obviously poses the question "Why is it there"? It seems so isolated, or, are there others there and you have cleverly framed it to be stand alone.

Glad you like it Maurice. The hut would normally be in line with lots of other ones - but the council are reorganising the area and replenishing the gravel a bit at a time, so some of the huts have be temporarily relocated and will be put back in line as they finish each stretch.

Lonely Blue Beach Hut...
What is in this Hut ?

The contents vary Udo..........nearly always a table and some chairs, a small camping stove and the means to make tea and coffee. Maybe some food. Towels, blankets, some dry clothing for after swimming. Some people spend all day there, some visit daily, some less frequently.

You have to rent one from the local council..........the rent is astronomical and waiting lists can be years long. You cannot stay in them overnght.

All by itself on the shingle. Although it seems to have attracted some plant friends. The colour really stands out and the cloudy sky is beautiful.

Thanks Jean...........the plants are sea kale I think.

(See my reply to Maurice above), which explains why the hut looks so lonely).

It certainly stands out well Keith, and looks well kept. Great framing and a beautifully captured sky, with just a tinge of brightness on the horizon. I was wondering the same as Maurice? :)

I like this a lot! Solitary hut under a threatening sky and a spot on composition.

And I like it, too, Keith. Good tension all the way through makes the photo easy to take in, and that, to my mind at least, makes it striking.

Glad you like it Wilhelm. It isn't quite as lonely as it looked though..........there are lots of beach huts but this one had been temporarily moved away from the others.
