"Burlington Bertie"

"Burlington Bertie"
A lovely piece of street art spotted in Worthing, West Sussex, by a local artist who is known only as Horace. This image is reputed to be a likeness of Horace Duke (now deceased), also known as Burlington Bertie, an eccentric chap who liked to dress up and parade around the town and local area occasionally "directing" traffic.

My research indicates there are more street art images of local folk by the same artist. This is the first one I've seen (although I don't go there very often). I'll be looking out for more on my next visit.

Gudrun, Ernest CH, Berny, Jörg and 13 other people have particularly liked this photo

Sadly, I don't think people are as tolerant of eccentrics as they used to be Diane.

Glad you like the artwork though!
