They are lovely Keith, especially with the dark green background. I also like the little pink tips! My daughter has Hazel in her garden and we have just learnt from the previous owners sister that the gentleman used to make hazel hurdles.

Have a lovely weekend and I hope you are enjoying the sunshine we have here :)

Ohhhhhh!!! The beauty of the catkin!! You took a perfect picture of these. Gorgeous detail, light and composition. I was just admiring some catkins the other day when Steve pulled over to look in the back of the truck. The tree next to us was adorned with zillions of catkins just like this one and I wished I'd had my camera. Apparently you hopped a ride through my teleporter, got the pictures and returned home to post! WELL DONE SIR! :D

You know, pictures I post like the wire around the fence post--they make me think about you because it's the kind of picture you would take! I love that. I love capturing an image that makes me excited to share with you because I know you will love it. Rusty or old subjects, cool, minimalist compositions, they are so YOU! :) Thank you for your detailed response too. You point out all the things that drew me to this image as well. How nice that we can find these things! :) Oh, and I'm happy that you enjoyed the barbed-wire inset too...we're crazy about bokeh aren't we?! :)
