The Ordnance Survey maps are unsurpassed in my view; I have been using Spanish maps of late. Not a patch on the good old O.S.!!
By the way, you have illustrated two of my mum's great loves. She was a very decent county standard tennis player and the same later with bowls. Gardening, painting and cooking also figure prominently as well!

Personally, I use a sat-nav in the car if I need to, but when out walking (or when I used to go mountain-biking) I use O/S maps and a compass.
