Obsolete but not Forgotten

The younger generation bandies about the term "obsolete" too much. They don't know not to do it. They should, after all this time of me telling them they don't know everything! Ha ha

Sure I still have it. Didn't want to throw it away because there are a lot of memories frozen in it !

A photographically perfect colour. Well framed and super detail. I never had a Sony Walkman CD player but I did have something very similar made, I think, by Panasonic. And, actually, It wasn't that long ago that I threw it out because I believed it didn't work any longer. But, I'm now thinking that perhaps I should have made 100% sure that it was not repairable because you have reminded me that it would still have been useful to me, Karen. Too late now :-) A marvellous track by Carole King.

Better sound that an mp3 player. I used to take mine to work all the time. As long as I did not bump it too hard, it would not skip.

Hi Karen,

Very nice picture of this antique. I used to repair these at one time, and the tape player that came before it. Unfortunately for the customers they took so long to take apart and re assemble that labour costs far exceeded component costs, and even exceeded the value of the thing.
People soon stopped bringing them in...
