These sweet little squirrels are getting to know each other down at the pond. They are both perched on a stump even though it looks like one is riding on the other's back lol.This is the first time we have seen this species of squirrel here. I think they are Eastern Gray Squirrels. We usually see only the Douglas squirrels around our house so this is a special treat.

Thanks, Paul. I hope so too. It's always a gamble when a new species is introduced. I do know that our own Western Gray Squirrel numbers are dwindling. They are beautiful big, gray, bushy squirrels. I used to have them in my yard in Seattle many years ago but we don't have them here in our area now.

These squirrels are so sweet because they get along. Our Douglas squirrels are always fighting. :D
