These are some of Mandi's garden kitties!!

These are some of Mandi's garden kitties!!
Mandi couldn't bear the thought of these kitties starving throughout the winter, so she fed them and now they've decided she's the leader of their group, they've formed their own family. She's even given them names!!! That's fatal - now she's got more kitties to look after

Janet Brien, Rosemma, Fred Fouarge and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Oui, ils n’étaient pas trop sûrs du chat de couleur orange, mais il a maintenant été accepté dans la 'famille'.

Yes they weren't too sure about the marmalade coloured cat as he was a new one, but now he's been accepted into the "family" - there are two more cats in the family too - a grey one called "Grayson" and a white and black one called "Solo".

How wonderful!! I would love to have so many friendly kitties about. I used to dream of having a house full of cats but with a parrot, we cannot have even one. I know some people have both but we understand their prey-oriented mind so we would never risk it. It's such fun when I do get to visit with some kitties though, I love them so.

Jenny, thank you so much for your wonderful comments over the past few days while Steve and I were away on our first RV trip. I'm so happy you enjoyed my blogging! :) I am thinking a lot of you when I write because I know you eat it up. Which makes me so happy. :) I'm glad you liked the show...and believe me, there will be lots of other pictures to share in the coming couple of weeks! :D

*BIG HUGS* You are the BESTEST! :D

I fully understand you not having any cats around with Pumpkin - it would be too risky and one or other would have to be caged or kept away all the time. Your bond with Pumpkin shouldn't be put at risk because to me it's absolutely precious. I just love the way you talk about Pumpkin, and it's so obvious how much you two love her. We used to have two cockateils, they were Mandi's and they would fly around her bedroom freely and one of the cats would be allowed in there at the same time, because he didn't show any threat at all, in fact he was more interested in sleeping on her bed than to be bothered with two birds!!!

I do love reading your blogs, because I imagine you write as you speak, which is very similar to me. I imagine talking to someone when I write my blogs, it's so easy to do that - certainly easier than trying to think of what to say carefully. This is how I feel you write your stories. I really love reading your missives because I don't get out and about so I'm doing it via you and others here on Ipernity. I dread to think what it would have been like without the internet - I would indeed have very sad times, missing Mandi like mad, but I can see her and speak to her via Skype so it doesn't hurt so much, also I've made some wonderful friends on here - life is very good and busy!!! Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures of your RV trip.

Oh my, what a wonderful reply, Jenny! Thank you! :)

Yes, we do adore our little Pumpkin girl. :) It was fun to read about Mandi's cockatiels, they are wonderful birds too. I had one once many years ago, what a doll. I'm glad you had a kitty that had no interest in the birds...it certainly happens but never worth the risk unless you're sure. :)

You and I DO write the same way. It's hard to do it any other way than to imagine that I'm talking to the person reading my blog. I've always most-enjoyed that style of writing as a reader. Like you say, it's very immersive and inclusive. Takes you into the scene and that's what I hope to achieve. You are super at this too, which I love. I like to think about anything unique that I might share because it's more interesting. Something to work on always, which is another reason that I enjoy posting a picture each day...more time to practice my writing skills! :)

I totally agree about the internet. How did we live without it? What an incredible tool. And a wonderful way to have community when you're anti-social out in the real world. Or a hermit, or shy, or whatever. I feel like you do: life is great with the internet in our pocket! Wherever Steve and I go, we'll be able to hook up to all of our friends out there around the world. We won't always have cell tower reception but we'll do our best to make it work! :)

Hope you have a lovely day!

Thank you so much for your comments about my before-sunrise picture! I'm so glad you liked it! Stay tuned, that was just my first picture, there will be a number of others, including the sunrise itself! :D

And yes...I certainly was totally overcome by the sun coming up. It was an incredibly moving experience. :) I look forward to zillions more! :D

Oh yes - the perfect place to see the sunset is only a couple of miles away over the hill from Mandi's home. I will probably be sitting outside a cafe with a lovely cup of coffee or ice cold beer whichever is suitable for the temperatures and just watch the sun drop behind the many small islands - bliss. Trouble is the sunset only takes about 10 minutes from beginning to end as it's quite close to the equator, so I'll have to be quick!!
