A mombretia is flowering in January!!!!

A mombretia is flowering in January!!!!
I only noticed it because I was looking outside to see the hailstones. This plant doesn't flower until July/August - what on earth was it doing flowering in the middle of a hailstorm?

Well I think some of the plants had had a good chat together and said, "Come on lads let's see what it's like at this time of year" and when they did they said " To hell with this idea - who suggested this?" I was so surprised Andy - that's why I mentioned it.

we have some gardens in town that decided to bloom as well (we'll see if i can get to uploading the photos i took). our snowdrops are supposed to be blooming now and have started, but not the roses or other late spring/summer flowers! maybe the mombretia (know the plant, didn't know the name) was jealous of the snow drops...

I don't get out so I don't know what our plants are doing in town. If there are any in flower, it'll be because they've been cultivated to flower this time of year - my mombretia is just sort of wild in my garden. No snowdrops here yet, although the bluebells have sprouted their leaves already.
