Mühlheim am Main - Vogelsberger See
Ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel in Mühlheim-Dietesheim bilden die ehemaligen Basaltsteinbrüche, heute ein attraktives Naherholungsgebiet.
Nach dem Ende des Basaltaubbaus im Jahr 1982 entstand hier eine beeindruckende Seenlandschaft von insgesamt mehr als 61 Hektar Gesamtfläche, davon ca. 22,5 ha tiefblaue Wasserfläche. Neben den größten Seen, dem Vogelsberger See und dem Oberwaldsee, wird das reizvolle Landschaftsbild durch eine Reihe kleinerer Seen ergänzt. Hohe Steilwände sind als bizarre Felsformationen zu bewundern, die in der Rhein-Main-Region einzigartig sind.
