"Delicate"
Sight and Sound
This is a tribute to one of my favorite female vocalists. I just found out she died last spring when I was looking for one of her songs. She wasn't well known. She described herself as a "delicate" person and preferred to sing back-up for artists like James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt rather than be in the spotlight. She did manage to put out a few excellent albums from the 1970s on and they are worth having.
Thank you, Valerie Carter, for sharing your wonderful talent with us. I won't forget you.
Here are a few of her songs. Hopefully at least one link will work for you if you care to listen.

Summer!
This week in SSC:
Summer - "Capture something that represents your favorite aspect of the season."
I love almost everything about summer (just because it's not winter) but one of my favorite things is going hiking on a sunny day. This view is from a local hiking trail that overlooks the Hood Canal here in Washington state. I'll include a PIP of the trail through the woods.

This Sunday's Challenge: "The Writing's on the Wall"
One form could be "graffiti" and this is the graffiti I chose.
"Graffiti (plural of graffito: "a graffito", but "these graffiti") are writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or painted illicitly on a wall or other surface, often within public view."
This is one of the many tattoos on my husband's arms (given the "mirror" treatment in PicMonkey and a "Dutch Tilt") and done "illicitly" when he was much younger. His very dear (yet religious and domineering) mother wouldn't see them until many years later... Don't worry, she managed to survive. :D

There's always a silver lining I guess. The fires here in Washington state are causing some gorgeous sunsets. It made me think of Firefall.

This week's Sunday Challenge: Bird/Birds
What a totally dead week for birds here. I went out several times and could find nothing. They must all be in meetings about the autumn migration. ;) I had to go to the pet shop for cat food so I took advantage of their "Fancy Parakeets" that were on display and embraced in a kiss.

Dan Fogelberg - Tullamore Dew
Just by chance I happened to plant some "Tullamore" tulips this year and they have some dew on them so I thought, wouldn't it be nice to add Dan Fogelberg's "Tullamore Dew" to this photo? I think so. Sometimes life is full of happy coincidences... :)
