This is a really stunning landscape Roger.................I love those lush greens dotted with wildflowers and no doubt filled with amazing wild life too. I like the laid back curve of the fence too.

An Eco Park sounds ominous......................if they want the area to be ecological, why don't they just leave it alone? Nature is quite capable of doing "eco" without any help from us!

Thank you Keith, It's beautiful as it is and teems with wildlife but they want to make more accessible with pathways for the cycle brigade and for pushchairs, then more fences and other attractions usually follow, The fence I suspect was shaped by bovine backsides who graze the ground in dry weather.

I really like these buttercups growing in the meadow.

Many years ago I had a big argument with some 'environmental expert' bloke who wanted to cut a load of trees down to make a 'nature park'. His reason for cutting them all down.. "They are not a native species".. OK, I asked, if you cut them down, where do the birds live?

It looks just beautiful as it is. A common in the next village which is supposedly being nurtured for wild flowers and insects now has hardly any. It's got a good and unnecessary crop of gates and fences instead.

Thank you Amelia, The district council acquired the are in a land-swap with a developer who could not use the land anyway but now are short of ideas what to do with it except plant some trees and lay a number of cycle tracks and bridges across the ground. what comes next is the problem, petitions to leave it alone have been ignored.
