Australian Darter

Australian Darter
Amazing feathers.
A water bird that is closely related to the Cormorants.
Anhinga novaehollandiae

The Darter's slender body, long, snake-like neck and its pointed, rather than hooked, bill distinguishes it readily from the bulkier cormorants with which it is often found.

I just came over to see your photos, and this one caught my eye. I doubt it was an accident that you noticed my recent anhinga photos. Ours spend a lot of time drying their feathers after a dive. Do the Australian birds do that, too?
